Your cursor will turn into an eye dropper, go down
and select a color.
and it will appear in the color window.

And the Fog & Smoke Menu will appear.

Start: determines the distance from the camera that the fog first appears.
Strength: sets the thickness of the fog.
Falloff : determines how quickly the fog dissipates
over distance.
low falloff means thicker fog over distance,
high falloff means thinner fog over distance.

Strength: sets the visibility of the smoke. The range of values is 1 to 100%.
Density: sets the thickness of the smoke.
Higher Density means thicker smoke in the areas
where smoke is present,
lower Density means thinner smoke in these areas.
Contrast: determines how much of the of the work
space will have smoke or
the areas where smoke is present. This also
controls how much of the work
space will have fog also.
Random Seed: is the number used to create the smoke,
changing this number between
key frames will make the smoke appear to be
moving in an animation.
Detail: Makes the smoke more or less distinct, larger
numbers mean more, lower numbers mean less.
This setting can not be changed from key frame
to key frame.
and will reflect the last number entered in
all the key frame.
To change these setting from key frame to key frame,
Open the Fog & Smoke menu and adjust the settings
then exit pressing OK button.
Go and set a key frame, then come back and make
the changes
press OK and set another key frame... and so
on.
