Merging Tips

Here are some basic tips for merging objects
I suggest reading the tutorial on Merging Object prior to these tips

If you want the merged object to bank and rotate normally, ( around it's center, like the primitives)
the first item selected needs to be in the center of composer and the center of the finish merge. all items start in the center by default. Amorphium sees the first item selected as the center of all the pieces that are merged. Here I selected the seat of the chair as my first and center piece.

Use the up, down, side to side tool to move and assemble the different parts. It is usually best to lock the axes to the direction
your moving the parts.

Use the next and previous option to select parts, so you won't accidentally move a part already set in place. Remember you only get one undo with Amorphium, if you render you can't undo your previous move.

Be sure to check the placement of parts in at least 3 different views ( front, side and top, ect...) If you want or need to see placement from a different angle, select the floor grid and use the rotate tool to move around your object. Once you rotate the floor grid the view your in becomes the camera view.

It is best to build your object with perspective disabled. If you want to zoom use the zoom menu, or select the floor grid and then check perspective. Use the zoom tool to move in or out. This can be done from any view, once you check perspective the view your in becomes the camera view.

If your object gets lost or off the workspace screen when you render. Use the reset view or reset views option.
Or if your object gets to big for the screen use the fit object option.

If you need to rotate or bank a piece 90%, 180%, or 270% lock axes to the direction you want to rotate and use the
rotate + 90% or -90% option. It is easier and more precise then doing it manually. This also works for banking if you
lock the Z axes.

This is really handy for fine tuning before you start merging.
I like to render after moving parts to see if placement is right, and I usually render 3 different views. The only problem
with this is once you render you lose your undo option. A work around this is after you highlight the object but
before you move it set a key frame. Then after you render if your unhappy with it you can highlight it again hit the key frame
and it moves back to were it was. The only thing is before you can set a key frame for another piece you need to trash the previous key frame.
