NEW SHAPES

This tutorial will show you how to make different synthetic basic shapes

In tools and distortion select standard shape from the new menu

Then select doughnut from the list and change the Y value to 3 and hit the ok button.

Now when you look from the top view you have this.

The polygon count isn't high enough to do any real sculpting on it so we take it to mesh man and quad the polygon
count and check join vertices and correct normals. I also checked rotate x and z 90% to make it look like this from the front view. You may need to quad polygon count a few times for more detailed sculpting.

Now you have a hollowed triangle as a base to start sculpting.
After your done sculpting you can lower the polygon count in meshman for exporting or just to keep the file size down.

Here are some other standard shapes and the settings. Experiment with different setting for different shapes

cone X=3
cylinder X=3
doughnut X=7
doughnut Y=3
sphere X=3
sphere Y=3
