The 3D WorkSpace

The purpose of this tutorial is to show and explain the work space and it's menus

In the work space is where the current object or model is worked on.
All of Amorphium work areas have a work space, and they are the same, except BioSpheres
is a little different. And Composer is completely different.

This is the 3D Work Space

Tasks, Mask, Tools & Distorts, HeightShop, Morph, Paint & Optics and Texture
work spaces have theses options at the bottom or the work space window.

Choose lets you put any shapes or objects you opened, created, imported, merged, or duplicated
into the work space window.

New, lets you put a new object in the work space window and it will go on to the choose list to. Your options are basic shape (organic), standard shape (synthetic), fontman (3D or 2D text), mesh man, and the group and ungroup option.

To learn about Standard Shapes, Front Man, Mesh Man and Group and ungroup go to their tutorials on my tutorial page.

Open will let you open an existing Amorphium object file from your computer.
When you click it you will bring up the open dialog window.

To open an imported 3D model go to the program menu. To open an Amorphium project go to the program menu

Save, lets you save the current object to your computer as an Amorphium object file.

To export as a model go to the program menu. To save as an Amorphium project go to the program menu

Delete will delete the current object from the project.
If you have made any changes to the object you will get this warning.

Info will tell you the information about the current object properties. This is where you can name your object
and you can give a description of it to.

VIEWS

There are 7 views in the work space, front,Right, Top, Back, Left, Bottom, and Custom.
The current view is shown at the top of the workspace on the tab.
If you click on this tap you will move to the next view, if you click and hold you will get a list of the views.
To select a view from the list put a black dot next to it by clicking the view.

You will notice that as soon as you move the object in the work space window with
one of the view tools (rotate, zoom, ect.. ). The view automatically changes to custom.

The reason for this is because in Tasks, Mask, Tools & Distorts, HeightShop, Morph, Paint & Optics and Texture
the object is not really moving. But the camera which you are looking through to
see the object in the work space, is what is moving.

In BioSpheres the work space is just a little different, in that instead of working with or viewing objects,
you have biospheres instead. So when you select choose, you choose one of the biospheres.
When you select new, you get a new biospheres.
When you select open, you open a biospheres file.
When you select save, you save all the biospheres in the work space as a biospheres file.
When you select delete, you delete the selected biosphere.
When you select Info, you get information and can name the current or selected biosphere.
Also in BioSpheres when you use any of the view or movement tools, the current or selected biosphere is what moves
and not the camera.

To learn about the work space in Composer, go to my tutorial on Composer, on my tutorial page.
